The LEADER program of the Ministry of Rural Development & Food was announced by O.A.K. SA and aims to subsidize young people - rural people but also residents of large urban centers - who want to open businesses outside urban centers. The eligible areas concern areas in the western part of the Regional Unit of Rethymnon, as well as in the Regional Unit of Chania.
The eligible activities are:
Establishment and modernization of processing and standardization units for products (such as dairies, small standardization and packaging units for eggs and honey, snail processing, olive mills, wineries, fruit and vegetable companies, fruit processing units, etc.)
Establishments, extensions and modernizations of craft units (such as products of ceramics - textiles, wooden constructions, etc.)
Establishment, expansion, modernization of small capacity overnight infrastructure (up to 40 beds).
Foundations extensions and modernizations, restaurants and leisure areas (traditional taverns and cafes)
Establishments, extensions and modernizations of service companies for the service of rural tourism (such as alternative forms of tourism, tasting places, etc.)
The subsidy rate is 50%, the deadline for submission of investment proposals is MONDAY 09 FEBRUARY 2015
