To issue a vehicle license in Machinery vehicles, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport & Networks must issue a type approval for Machinery vehicles (general or individual), register the and classify it so that it can get a an operator’s license and registration plate.
Some examples of machinery vehicles are the following:
- Electric or Thermal Forklift Truck
- Lift (e.g. for removals)
- Automated Gantry Crane
- Automated Air Compressor
- Crane
- Street Sweeper
- Wheel Loader
- Conveyor Belt
- Bucket Truck
- Tractor – Air Compressor
- Timber Loader
- Waste Collection Truck
- Telescopic Forklift
- Base station

Regarding the crane trucks the following conditions should be respected:
• The unladen weight of the crane should not be more than 15% of the Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass (MTPLM), for tandem axle vehicles.
- The unladen weight of the crane should not be more than 20% of the Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass (MTPLM), for tri-axle vehicles.
- The unladen weight of the crane should not be more than 25% of the Maximum Technically Permissible Laden Mass (MTPLM), for vehicles with more than three axles.
- The stability criteria should be fulfilled for safe movement of vehicles.
- The maximum lift capacity of the lift truck should not be more than 80 tnm (ton meters).
